Cannes Update

David's just been back from Cannes, and we'd like to give our wonderful friends out there an update on where we are with distribution.

As many of you know, distribution is literally a "one country at a time" deal. It often takes indie films 2 to 3 years to get distribution in any particular country.

As of today, Ten Inch Hero will be distributed and shown in the following countries: Germany (Yay for Kimmy and Dagmar), Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Belgium (waves hi to the twins!), the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Turkey, Denmark, Luxembourg, and Lichtenstein.

When will be movie be available in these countries? We're not sure. But it's happening, so hang in there.

If your country is not on this list, don't worry...we're working on it! Some countries are just harder to sell than others. But we're making it happen--one country at a time!

That so great! My country is not on the list and that is not so great, but I'm still hoping!

That's pretty cool. I'm kinda bummed that the USA isn't listed there but I'm excited for those who finally got it.

Yay! Every bit of news about tih is great, but this one is excellent... Not only is it distributing, (sometimes slow is better) but it's coming to the netherlands (thank god for me being born there ;). Patience will be rewarded, so I'll hold on a little longer for actually seeing it. To everyone not (yet) on the list, HANG ON! Just keep the news coming!

It's so awesome that Finland is on the list! This made me insanely happy.

Great news that it is getting out there, wish the list was longer - and of course that the UK was on it.

Is there anything we ought to be doing, that we aren't yet doing, to help you all with this effort?

Go TIH team

Best Wishes
Sharon

Another thought?

I think it is too late for this year, but the Endinburgh Internation Film Festival (August) and The Cambridge International Film Festival (July) in the UK would be great places to showcase the film.

I might be able to help with the Cambridge information if you want me to mention it for 2009?

Regards
Sharon

Fan-freaking-tastic! Denmark... sometimes it's good to be a Dane. Seriously, this rocks.

Anonymous said...

Cool! For once I'm happy to be living in Denmark when it comes to movie distribution! From the few clips I've seen of this movie, it's made of awesome. Can't wait to see it! Totally cool.

Anonymous said...

Oh my, Denmark is on the list! That is such good news. I must say that I got all hyper about the movie solely for the fact that Joy's music is being featured, but I was really impressed with the trailer considering the fact that the movie was low budget!

I will definitely keep an eye out for the movie.
